Polymaker PolyLite™ ABS: Industry standard with minimal odor

Looking for a material for functional parts that can withstand higher temperatures and mechanical stress? Polymaker PolyLite™ ABS is a modern interpretation of classic ABS. Thanks to a special polymerization process, it contains significantly fewer volatile substances, which means one thing: precise printing with minimal unpleasant odor.

Why choose PolyLite™ ABS?

High heat resistance: Ideal for parts that come into contact with heat (motors, electronics covers, car accessories).

Reduced odor (Low VOC): Special ABS resin ensures a cleaner printing environment compared to conventional low-cost ABS filaments.

Perfect post-processing: Prints can be easily sanded, drilled, or smoothed with acetone vapors to achieve a mirror-like finish.

Mechanical toughness: A great choice for robotics and functional prototypes that need to withstand wear and tear.

Technical parameters and recommendations

Stable temperature and no drafts are key to successful ABS printing.

Property Recommended value

Nozzle temperature 245 °C – 265 °C

Bed temperature 90 °C – 100 °C

Print speed 30 – 50 mm/s (for standard machines)

Cooling (Fan) Off (0%)

Retraction (Direct) 1 mm / 20 mm/s

Retraction (Bowden) 3 mm / 40 mm/s

💡 Tip from Hotend.cz: Owners of fast printers (Bambu Lab, Voron) need not worry about the manufacturer's "paper" speeds – with the right flow and temperature settings, this material can handle much higher speeds.

Practical tips for successful printing

Adhesion is key: ABS tends to warp. We recommend using adhesives such as Magigoo or Dimafix on a heated bed.

Enclosed space: A closed printer or box (enclosure) is essential for printing larger models. A stable ambient temperature prevents layer cracking (delamination).

Storage: ABS is a hygroscopic material. If you are not printing for a long time, store it in a dry place (e.g., in a PolyBox). If it gets wet, dry it for 6 hours at 70 °C.

When to choose a different material? (Honest recommendation)

ABS filament is not suitable for complete beginners. If you are new to 3D printing and do not have an enclosed printer or specific temperature resistance requirements (around 100 °C), we recommend checking out our PLA or PET-G filaments, which are much easier to work with.

Safety first: Although PolyLite™ ABS has less odor, always print in a well-ventilated room.

Want to print parts that don't deform under heat and look professional? Add PolyLite™ ABS to your cart.
